Summary: mozilla.dev.builds - November 4th to November 10th 2006

  • November 4th: Mojr wants to know if Firefox has a similar feature that the new IE 6 has built in.
  • This feature consists of creating buttons using a small program, that allows you to create shortcuts to a particular address. The button gets added to the toolbar, separate from the links.
  • November 8th: Roy received an error when he tried to reflow a branch build using VC 7.1 SP1.
  • On the same day he posted the answer to his posting that he found in last weeks posting. Click here to see the answer to the problem.
  • November 8th: Kirans is trying to build Mozilla with XULRunner option on a windows machine.
  • When he ran this "make -f client.mk build" command he receive an error saying "No such file or directory". He stated that he set is HOME variable to C:\mozilla, and is not sure what he is doing wrong.
  • November 9th: Jonathan Watt responded to his posting stating that he must have the wrong line endings in his mozconfig or some other script fill that he is probably using to run.
  • November 10th: Vin downloaded the latest Firefox 2 RC3 and tried to build it on FC3 with the following options:
./configure  --enable-application=browser --prefix=$PREFIX
--enable-extensions=default,spatialnavigation 
  • Then he tried running "make" and received the following error:
/usr/bin/ld: TestTArray.o(.text+0x2237): unresolvable relocation
against symbol `nsTArray_base::sEmptyHdr'
/usr/bin/ld: final link failed: Nonrepresentable section on output

  • He is not sure what is wrong with his build, and is asking for help on how to resolve the build error.
