DESCRIPTION
The
gcvt()
function converts number to a minimal length null-terminated
ASCII string and stores the result in buf.
It produces ndigit significant digits in either
printf(3)
F format or E format.
RETURN VALUE
The
gcvt()
function returns
buf.
